MG University Bags Three Awards at Darsana International Book Fair

Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) has won three awards in various categories at the 27th Darsana International Book Fair.

Aksharamuttam, the pavilion of University Department of Printing and Publishing, which had organised Kavismarana, the birth centenary celebration of four legendary Malayalam poets - Nalankal Krishnapilla, Vailoppilly Sreedhara Menon, Chengambuzha Krishnapilla and Pala Narayanan Nair - along with special exhibitions of Malayalam Books which won awards during 2009-10, biographies and autobiographies, books on films and films writings, and Malayalam film periodicals won the Best Special Display Award.

The book ‘Collins Vyakaranam’ was selected for the Special Darsana National Award for excellence in book production.

The book ‘Vaikom Sathyagraha Rekhakal’ won the special award for Best Cover Design. The design of the cover jacket of this book was prepared by Creative Minds, Kottayam. Kurian K.Thomas, Director, Department of Printing and Publishing was the coordinating editor and Dr. K. Radhakrishna Varriar, Assistant Editor (Malayalam) was the copy editor of both books.
