KOCHI: The LDF did not wait for Mayor Soumini Jain’s reply in the council before erupting into protest as the Mayor could not come up with convincing replies in the past, according to front leaders.
Addressing the media, LDF leaders alleged that the Mayor had often lied to the council. “She had also failed to give satisfactory replies in the past. Hence, we did not wait for her reply,” they said when asked about denying the Mayor the opportunity to reply in the council.
On the agenda of the council being passed without debate as several meetings in the past had to be curtailed following opposition protests, they said important issues in the agenda were later followed up.

“The LDF is for a probe into the signage deal. The Mayor had sat on controversial files for months together,” they said.
