Officials conduct land survey for determining the boundary for the Metro Rail project between Aluva and Edappally National Highway.

District Collector P. I. Sheikh Pareeth inaugurated the land survey for determining the boundary for the Metro Rail project between Aluva and Edappally on Wednesday. The survey was launched at Kalamassery, the boundary point between Aluva and Kanayannur taluks, said a press release here on Wednesday.

It said that additional tehsildars would supervise the land survey being conducted in the Aluva and Kanayannur taluks. Two teams headed by head surveyors will conduct the survey.

The District Collector said the primary aim of the survey was to find out whether it would be possible to maintain the four-lane width of the highway even after establishing the pillars for the Metro Rail project. It was established that most of the areas would be able to maintain the four-lane highway. Fresh land acquisition would be needed only in areas where there was no sufficient width. The survey was expected to be completed in two weeks.
