1,500 seek treatment for fever

The district continues to be in the grip of fever as 1,513 people approached various government and private hospitals for treatment on Wednesday.

This was in addition to 51 persons treated at the in-patient section of hospitals. While 198 persons reported at the out-patient wing with diarrhoea-like symptoms, five reported at the in-patient wing.

Sixteen persons were reported with symptoms of dengue fever. Dengue has been reported from Ilanjy, Mulavukad, Ayavana, Mudakuzha, Kakkanad, Eloor, Kalamassery and Mulanthuruthy.

The Kochi Corporation accounted for six dengue cases, while three were diagnosed with the disease at Kakkanad. One Hepatitis-B case was reported from Kechery while three cases of Hepatitis-C were reported from the corporation, Kothamangalam, and Vadavucode, the district medical officer said.
