Youth ends life due to ‘love failure’

An MCA degree holder, who reportedly fell in love with a woman after chatting with her online, ended his life “depressed over being spurned by her”, the Saroornagar police said on Thursday.

The body of Narsimha Reddy, 25, was found hanging from the ceiling in the rented room of his friend, Basha, at HUDA complex in Dilsukhnagar. A suicide note with the photograph of a woman affixed to it was found in the room. “The woman and her family members threatened me,” he stated in the note. Reddy who hails from Rentachintala of Guntur district, came to city in search of a job. He went to Bangalore three days ago to attend a job interview and returned on Tuesday.

Basha found the door of his room bolted from inside when he returned from office on Wednesday evening. He peeped through the window and saw Reddy’s hanging body.

“I knew Reddy was in love with a woman believed to be from Nalgonda. He used to chat with her online and fell in love with her,” Basha told the police. Basha was, however, not sure what transpired between Reddy and the woman of late and why his friend resorted to the extreme step.

“We are trying to ascertain if the section of abetment to suicide can be invoked in this case,” the police said.

Reddy’s father and elder sister had also committed suicide earlier. His mother, a labourer, lives in Rentachintala.
