Youth abducts girl after befriending her through Facebook

A youngster allegedly abducted a teenager after befriending her through fake Facebook identities. He was caught by Begumpet police on Wednesday.

A 10 standard student from Prakashnagar of Begumpet, the victim was rescued from a house where she was confined by the accused, Narsing Rao, who works as a fitter in a private firm. He hails from Ameenpur village of Medak.

“The fitter opened two FB accounts in different names. He came in contact with the teenager online,” said Begumpet ACP B. Manohar. Claiming himself as Narsing in one of the accounts, he used to call the teenager his sister.

“Through the second account which he opened in the name of Abhinav alias Akhil, the accused began chatting with her and led her believe that he loved her,” the ACP explained. After some days, Rao began calling up the teenager using two different mobile phone numbers in the names of Narsing and Abhinav.

“He even used to change his voice to make her believe that two different persons were speaking with her,” the official said. Two days ago, he lured the student to Chandanagar stating that he wanted to meet her. When she arrived there, Rao abducted her.

She was confined in a house. On learning that her parents approached the Begumpet police, Rao rang up her family stating that he was an SI from Kukatpally police station and would secure her release if they paid him Rs. 50,000.
