A woman strangled her son and daughter to death with a wire in their house at Fatullahguda near L.B. Nagar, the police said on Saturday. The woman, Rita Gupta has been been taken into custody and is being questioned. The motive for the sensational crime, has not yet been established, but police suspect that domestic quarrels could have led to the twin murders.

The bodies of Shivans Gupta (8) and Siddika Gupta (4) were found in their house. While Shivans was a second standard student, her brother was in LKG, the L.B. Nagar Inspector P. Srinivas Reddy said. Their father Anil Gupta works as a painter and the family hails from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.
Police who interviewed the neighbours learnt that Gupta used to suspect the fidelity of his wife.
