A traffic Sub Inspector of police allegedly assaulted a woman at Puranapul on Friday evening following an argument over paying penalty.

According to the police, the woman Rasheeda Begum (42), along with her son Kamaluddin (23), was passing by Puranapul road when the traffic police stopped their two-wheeler and insisted on showing vehicle documents.

This resulted in an argument between the SI Anjaneyulu and the duo.
