The average age of the members of the society that promotes stamp and coin collection is around 45 years. Even among the visitors who attend fairs, there is a sparse representation of the young population.
“We are trying to introduce youngsters to this hobby. For this, we are also using social media and promoting stamp and coin collection. This is a great activity as a collector also studies history, science and arts in this process,” said a senior stamp collector from the city.
Some also expressed concern that the hobby has turned commercial, with very few continuing the activity out of passion.
