Weather turns pleasant after drizzle in Hyderabad

GHMC received complaints of uprooted trees from Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Khairatabad, Langar Hauz, Koti and Yousufguda.

Cloudy sky, billowing winds and a slight drizzle in many parts of the city on Saturday evening provided welcome relief to the citizens from the searing heat over the past few days.

Gusty winds uprooted trees at several places. GHMC received complaints of uprooted trees from Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Khairatabad, Langar Hauz, Koti and Yousufguda.

Though a maximum temperature of 42.5 degree Celsius was recorded, about half degree higher than previous day’s temperature, the evening turned pleasant after thunderstorm clouds hovered over most of the city. The India Meteorological Department recorded 4.4 mm of rain until 8.30 p.m.

According to weather information services provider, Skymet, oscillating wind conditions, isolated thundershowers are likely to occur over the weekend, resulting in humid weather during the day.

Around 9 mm rainfall has been recorded this month compared to the 22 mm monthly average. IMD has also predicted thunderstorms over the next two days.

The highest maximum temperature of 44.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Nalgonda. Light rainfall was also recorded in other parts of the State including Warangal, Ramagundam and Nizamabad.
