The State government has allotted a 35 acres at Koheda village of Hayathnagar mandal in Ranga Reddy district to the Andhra Pradesh Wakf Board as compensation for land lost by the Baba Sharfuddin Pahadi Dargah near the Shamshabad airport.
Minister for Minorities Welfare Mohd. Ahamadullah at a press conference here on Sunday said the allocation was the second such move after 50 acres were allocated earlier by former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. The land was given as compensation for 85 acres of the total 3,400 acres under survey no. 99/1, belonging to the Baba Sharfuddin Pahadi Dargah that had been ‘missing' for a few decades now, he said. The issue was brought to focus in the Assembly by members of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, said MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, adding that when asked about the ‘missing' land, B.P. Acharya, former Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, had replied that it had been ‘lost' in road-widening.
Mr. Ahamadullah said there were several such cases of the Wakf Board losing properties due to various reasons. Several cases were pending before different courts in the State.

Among others present were Wakf Board Chairman Syed Afzal Ghulam Biyabani and Chancellor of Jamia-e-Nizamia and Member State Wakf Board Maulana Akbar Nizamuddin, apart from MLAs Ahmed Pasha Qadri, Afsar Khan, Virasat Rasool Khan and Moazzam Khan and MLC Altaf Hyder Razvi. Secretary, Minorities Welfare Dana Kishore and Ranga Reddy Joint Collector C. Sudarshan Reddy were also present.
