The first flyover under the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) near L.B. Nagar was inaugurated by Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao here on Friday.

The flyover on the left hand side near Kamineni Hospital junction was aimed to facilitate free flow of traffic coming from Srisailam and Vijayawada towards Secunderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rama Rao said the metro rail stretch between L.B. Nagar and Ameerpet would be inaugurated in September first week. Initially scheduled to be launched by July-end, the project was postponed to August 15 later and now it’s further delayed. Lack of permission from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety has resulted in delay in the launch of the stretch.

The tentative deadline for the right hand side flyover is March 2019, and the total corridor at L.B. Nagar is expected to be completed by June next year.
