Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader and minister in the caretaker government K.T. Rama Rao has cautioned the people that all irrigation projects which are in progress, including Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project, will be put on hold in case the Grand Alliance, comprising Congress, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and others, comes to power.
Speaking at TRS workers meeting of Ibrahimpatnam Assembly constituency near Bonguluru crossroads on the City outskirts on Tuesday he alleged that AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is also the president of the TDP, had written 30 letters to the Centre complaining against Palamuru-Rangareddy project with a request to stop its construction and in case the Grand Alliance came to power all the projects in progress would be put on hold.
The TRS had plans to give water to lands in the Ibrahimpatnam constituency with the help of Rachakonda lift as part of Palamuru-Rangareddy project and it would be possible only if K. Chandrasekhar Rao was returned as chief minister.

AP’s complaints
He asked the people to question the Grand Alliance leaders when they come to seek votes whether they had taken any assurance from Mr. Naidu about withdrawing complaints against irrigation projects taken up by Telangana, including Palamuru-Rangareddy project.
Stating that statehood to Telangana was achieved for realising the dreams of ‘neellu, nidhulu, niyaamakaalu’ (water, funds and jobs) Mr. Rama Rao said the TRS government had started to address those issues sincerely during the last four-and-a-half years and some issues were already resolved. The three core issues would be relegated to the back burner if the Grand Alliance came to power, the TRS leader said and suggested the people to be wary about the “tall promises” being made by the alliance.

Safe drinking water
Mission Bhagiratha programme to provide treated drinking water to every household in the State was in the final stages and it was necessitated as the Congress and TDP, which had ruled the State for over 60 years, had failed to provide even safe drinking water to people.
With a view to improve employment opportunities in the private sector the TRS government had successfully brought several industries to the State already and the first Pharma City in the country with international standards with zero liquid discharge was coming up outside Hyderabad on 19,000 acres, which includes about 4,000 acres in Ibrahimpatnam constituency, Mr. Rama Rao stated.
He asked the people to make a choice between the “sealed cover Chief Minister or a Chief Minister selected by the people”.
