Vistara Airlines of the Tata group has also expressed interest in expanding its services with Hyderabad as its centre of operations. The CEO of Vistara Airlines, Phee Teik Yeoh, formally met Minister for Panchayat Raj and Information Technology K.T. Rama Rao, and discussed the prospects of using the infrastructure of Hyderabad Airport exhaustively.
Mr. Rao informed Mr. Yeoh that the airport had achieved 20 per cent growth in passenger turnout, which will work to the benefit of new entrants such as Vistara. He recalled that many subsidiaries of Tata group were working with Hyderabad as the centre of operations.
Soon, Mr. Rao will meet the Tata group chairman and ask him to start Vistara operations in the city. Mr. Rao has also informed Mr. Yeoh of the training facility for aviation engineers soon to be begun at the airport. The airport is strategically located for Vistara to spread its services in Southern India.

Principal Secretary of IT Jayesh Ranjan and Commissioner of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security of India Gurjyot Singh Malhi also attended the meeting.
