A VR (virtual reality) Hackathon to seek out the best Backend, Unity and developer talent in the city would be organised by Digital Domain India next month.

The event, to be held on March 10 and 11, would test the skills of the participants and would open the door to exciting career opportunities. In a release here, the company also announced that it was expanding to include a VR team. The primary idea behind the VR Hackathon is to spread awareness on the enormous career opportunities that the developers have and to attract talent from other industries, mainly the developer community, including Full Stack Developers (Back-end Developers) and Unity Developers, the release said. Registration to participate is free of cost. Participants at the hackathon would learn more about the creative work done by DDI. Cash prize of ₹50,000 as well as the possibility of landing a lucrative VR position at the Hyderabad facility await the winner.

To enter the competition, developers need to go through an eligibility test. Qualifying candidates get to compete in the final coding challenge.

“We are focusing on strengthening our VR/AR and tech development workforce in Hyderabad as an extension to our North American teams... believe the Hackathon will be our window to the large developer community in the State and elsewhere,” said Sudhir Reddy, vice-president and head of studio for DDI.
