Doctor spends ₹50 lakh on setting up various facilities in Ibrahimpur

Ibrahimpur is now equipped with better facilities, thanks to unrelenting efforts by Dr. P. Raghu Ram, a Padma Shri awardee and director of KIMS-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases, Hyderabad, who has adopted the village.

He has spent nearly ₹50 lakh for the village and completed several projects with the help of villagers. A modern crematorium and cattle shed were inaugurated in the village on the State Formation Day on Saturday.

The crematorium, Vaikuntam, is built on a one-acre plot at a cost of ₹20 lakh and has come as a relief to villagers who were forced to travel long distances to perform last rites of their relatives.

Apart from that, 46 sheep sheds, spread across three acres with solar electrification facilities, have been built on the outskirts. For the purpose, ₹10 lakh was spent.

Home solar system for 26 houses has been provided at a cost of ₹15 lakh to the poorest of the poor. Besides, a foundation stone was laid for a community library while a community function hall with a capacity to accommodate 200 people has been built. A dining room in the village school and a digital study room have also come up.

“Ibrahimpur has created a history and become a model for the nation. People from various places are coming here to learn and educate themselves and it has received awards several times at different levels,” said Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, who bestowed special attention on the village, during his Formation Day address.
