A steady stream of visitors, primarily comprising victorious elected representatives belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ally in the National Democratic Alliance, Telugu Desam, called on actor and Jana Sena Party founder Pawan Kalyan, primarily to thank him for aiding their victory.
Prominent among those who met Mr. Kalyan were BJP president (Andhra Pradesh) and Visakhapatnam MP K. Hari Babu, president of Movie Actors’ Association M. Muralimohan and producer Maganti Babu.
Mr. Muralimohan has the distinction of winning the Rajahmundry Lok Sabha seat with a whopping majority of slightly over 1.5 lakh.

When contacted, he said he was grateful to Mr. Kalyan, saying the actor’s presence and influence over voters in Rajahmundry was instrumental in turning the tide of votes in his favour. “This kind of political recognition is something I always wished for. I am thankful to my voters for reposing their faith in me,” he said, addressing the media with Mr. Kalyan beside him.
Others who called on Mr. Kalyan included Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy, Kinjarapu Rammohana Naidu, P. Sujatha, Akula Satyanarayana, Pidikonda Manikyala Rao, Madhava Naidu, Anitha, Avanthi Srinivas, V. Kondababu, Damacharla Janardhan Rao and Veeranjaneyulu.
