Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to have commenced its preparations for the forthcoming general elections in the capital with B. Venkat Reddy declared as president of the party’s city unit on Sunday.

He has been elected as president for the second time consecutively.

This announcement was recognition of Mr. Reddy’s service to the party and in the coming days, many senior leaders would be visiting the city to hold many meetings.

“There will be lot of action,” said Bandaru Dattatreya, at a party members meet.

Right from drinking water supply, power supply to bomb blasts, the city is plagued with many problems and Congress government has failed on all fronts in addressing these issues, he charged.

This time, the BJP’s target in the city would be to win both the Hyderabad and Secunderabad parliamentary seats, besides also making sure that the MIM is prevented from winning too many Assembly seats, he added.
