Two more persons admitted at private hospitals in Hyderabad have tested positive for swine flu on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 80 from January 2014.
Health officials maintained that the swine flu virus has not mutated into any virulent form and it is not fatal among healthy persons. High risk groups, however, need to be very cautious, as they are susceptible to the virus due to their compromised immunity levels.
Doctors said that any person, who continues to have flu like symptoms even after 48 hours of regular medications for cold, have to consult a chest physician.

Among several swine flu precautionary measures that include cough etiquette, avoiding public areas, public also have the option of getting vaccinated.
“Vaccination can be taken only under medical advice. Usually we suggest vaccination only to pregnant women, children below two-and-half years and senior citizens with co-morbid conditions like kidney, heart and lung infections. Public, however, should continue to take basic precautions,” says Professor, Pulmonology, Osmania Medical College, Dr. K. Subhakar.
