Two held for selling defence land

The city police on Friday nabbed two persons, including a retired bank employee for allegedly cheating a person by selling defence land at military area in Bollarum.

The police said K. Venugopal (56), a retired bank employee and resident of Kacheguda and his associate Namburi Naga Venkata Chandra Sekhar (39), a businessman and resident of Snehapuri Colony collected Rs.18 crore from Managing Trustee of Gurunanak Educational Society Tavinder Singh Kohli and sold defence land to him. Duplicate documents were seized from the arrested persons.

The duo conspired with their six associates, Khusro Khusro Jalnawala, Reena Jalnawala, Haneef, Sujath Ali, Jagadish F Shah and Vipan Kumar Abrol and duped Kohli, Detective Department DCP L.K.V. Ranga Rao said here on Friday.

The police had nabbed the six persons.
