Two held for cheating bizman

In a joint operation, Malkajgiri SOT and Nacharam police apprehended two persons for allegedly cheating a businessmen to the tune of ₹3 crore by failing to keep a promise to set up coffee shops in offices.

Police identified the accused as G Sreenivasulu (55), a former lecturer, and his associate Asha Kiran.

Sreenivasulu, police said, worked in Malaysia for a year. There, he came in contact with a businessman called Clint. The accused allegedly worked with him to import rice from India. He stopped teaching and fully immersed himself in this business. Later, his business started suffering and debts kept on mounting.

He then contacted his friend Tara and told her that he knew people who can help set up coffee stalls in MNCs. A gullible Tara believed him and sent interested parties for doing business. He collected a total of ₹3 crore from them and fled after changing his mobile number.

He then met Asha Kiran and deposited the cash in her account.

Police said that the accused even cheated students by promising them jobs. Cash of ₹10 lakh was seized from their possession.
