Two arrested for robbing businessman

Two persons, who allegedly robbed a businessman at Saidabad, were arrested by the Commissioner’s Task Force here on Wednesday.

The accused persons, Syed Zameer alias Pavan and K. Anji alias Munna, on pretext of helping a businessman in locating an address took him to an isolated place in Saidabad and after assaulting him, snatched two mobile phones, ATM and credit cards and Rs. 500 from him, the police said.

Man held for robbing train passengers

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) caught a man on charge of robbing passengers of their valuables in Darbhanga Express.

Manoj Kumar of Haryana allegedly threatened passengers with a toy gun and took away Rs. 15,000 from them.

On being alerted by the victims, the Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force personnel rushed and took him into custody.

Lorry gutted

at workshop

A lorry was burnt down in a fire accident reported at a workshop in Bahadurpura on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident took place while the workers were dismantling a lorry using gas cutters.

A heap of cushions lying next to the lorry caught fire, Fire Officer of Chandulal Baradari Fire Station, Suresh Reddy said.

On noticing the flames, the workers fled from the workshop.

Two fire tenders from Chandulal Baradari and Moghalpura fire stations rushed to the spot and took up fire fighting operation that lasted for an hour.
