Telangana recorded another 172 COVID cases on Friday, taking the active caseload to 3,741 with the highest number of cases reported from the capital region with 79 cases. It includes 51 cases from GHMC, 17 from Rangareddy and 11 from Medchal-Malkajgiri.
Of the 39,804 samples tested, as many as 1,007 results are yet to come, as per the daily bulletin released by Director of Public Health G. Srinivasa Rao.
One death was recorded taking the official death count to 3,972 while the overall number of people infected since March 2020 is about 6.74 lakh and those recovered is around 6.66 lakh with 167 persons recovering on Friday.

Rajannna-Sircilla and Warangal Urban with 14 cases each and Nalgonda with 10 are among the only two double digit case numbers. Zero cases have been reported from Vikarabad, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, Nirmal, Mulugu and Nagarkurnool.
Spike in the last week has been observed in Nalgonda 7 to 10, Rajanna-Sircilla 2 to 14, Warangal Urban 5 to 14, Rangareddy 12 to 17, Sangreddy 4 to 7 and Siddipet 2 to 5.
