TS programmes acquire a ‘spiritual’ colour

May 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Government of Telangana appears to be leaving no stone unturned in involving personalities from all walks of life, including spiritual leaders in its developmental and other programmes.

This can be seen in the involvement of personalities from various spheres of life in most of its flagship schemes such as Mission Kakatiya, Water Grid, Haritha Haaram, Swachh Hyderabad and others.

The government has been making it a point to involve spiritual leaders with mass following in programmes related to the Endowments Department such as the development of temples and Godavari Pushkaralu.

The Advisor to the State Government on Culture, K.V. Ramanachary, visited Sri Ramanuja China Jeeyar Swamy at his ashram in Muchintal near Shamshabad and formally invited him to participate in Godavari Pushkaralu in Telangana. Mr. Ramanachary heads the invitation committee set up by the government to invite personalities from all walks of life for the Pushkaralu.

Speaking on the occasion, China Jeeyar Swamy said it would be appropriate to begin Pushkaralu from Bhadrachalam, where the famous Ramalayam is located. The Advisor to the Government said Swamiji’s suggestion would be conveyed to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Volunteers under Vikas Tarangini run by Swamiji would extend help in conducting Pushkaralu smoothly, he noted.

Mr. Ramanachary further stated that the government was making foolproof arrangements for Pushkaralu commencing from July 14. He told newspersons later that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the invitation committee was meeting all important spiritual heads to extend an invitation formally and seek their blessings.

The government has already involved China Jeeyar Swamy in its plans for the development of Yadagirigutta.
