‘TS all set for a boom in construction’

Sixth edition of TREDA Property Show kicks off. The building approvals policy would be on the lines of enormously-successful TS-IPASS (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System), the Minister said.

Minister for Industries Jupally Krishna Rao on Friday said that the government would have in place a system whereby building approvals would be given in a fortnight, provided the necessary documentation was furnished by builders.

The name of the game was transparency, Mr. Rao said, adding that it was transparency alone that would remove any and all scope for irregularities and associated corruption.

The building approvals policy would be on the lines of enormously-successful TS-IPASS (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System), he said.

Ever since the TS-IPASS came into being, a whopping 250 industries and projects were approved, he pointed out, adding that more was to come.

Kick-starting the 6{+t}{+h}edition of TREDA (Telangana Real Estate Developers’ Association) Property Show here on Friday, Mr. Krishna Rao and P. Mahender Reddy (Transport) expressed confidence that the youngest State of the Indian Republic was all set for a boom across different sectors of industry and commerce that would make it a role model for other States to follow.

Mr. Mahender Reddy said that Ranga Reddy district that virtually surrounded Hyderabad was burgeoning with construction of different kinds and stressed the need for better and eco-friendly technologies in the construction sector to be adopted by builders and developers. The lull of the past few years, following the agitation for a separate State and the like, would soon give way to a boom, he said.

The three-day expo at the HITEX here has about 175 stalls of different ongoing and upcoming ventures, apart from those showcasing different construction technologies. Stall owners, including corporates, investors, architects, consultants, developments, government agencies, developers, builders, housing finance companies, material manufacturers and banks, competed with each other, putting up the best of their products and services in an easy-to-understand format.

The show will be on between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on all three days, said TREDA President P. Dasharath Reddy. Last year’s show witnessed a footfall of about 60,000 visitors and this year it is expected to cross 70,000, he added.
