Trial supply of Chhattisgarh power to TS resumes

The supply of power from Chhattisgarh to Telangana on experimental basis has been resumed with the restoration of transmission towers that were damaged in heavy winds on April 7.

According official sources, transmission of power generated at the Marwa thermal power project in Janjgir district of Chhattisgarh through Wardha -Dichpally (Nizamabad) 765 KV double-circuit inter-grid transmission line of the Power Grid Corporation was resumed on the evening of April 22.

About 150 million units (MU) of energy was made available to Telangana Discoms from March 30 to April 7 with the experimental transmission of power on the newly constructed line. Another 25 MU of energy was provided to Telangana on April 22 and 23 after resuming the experimental transmission, officials stated.
