Chairman and Managing Director of Transmission Corporation of Telangana Ltd (TS-Transco) and Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Ltd (TS-Genco) D. Prabhakar Rao completed 50 years of service in the power utilities on Thursday.
Recruited as Assistant Accounts Officer on January 10, 1969, Mr. Prabahakar Rao held several senior positions in Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board, AP-Transco and AP-Genco including holding position of Chairman of Southern Regional Power Committee. He won several awards for his services in the power sector and also for leading the utilities after formation of Telangana State including the Central Board of Irrigation and Power award.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao highlighted the role of Mr. Prabhakar Rao along with his team of employees in bringing out the State from a crisis in power sector in June 2014 within a year on many occasions including during the review meetings held in the Chief Minister’s office. He was complimented for providing uninterrupted free power supply to farm sector without any hassles from January 1, 2018.

The Telangana Power Engineers’ Association organised an event to celebrate the occasion on Thursday, in which a cake was cut by Mr. Prabhakar Rao.
