Transco CMD and team visit Seoul

Chairman and Managing Director of Transmission Corporation of Telangana Ltd (TSTransco) D. Prabhakar Rao along with a couple of engineers of the power utility visited Dangjin plant of Taihan Electric Wire Company Ltd near Seoul in South Korea on Friday and inspected specified transmission cable required for the proposed Gas Insulated Switchgear sub-station in Hyderabad.

The TSTransco team is visiting the Taihan Electric Wire Company Ltd units at Dangji-si, Chiungchungnamdo in South Korea from April 10 to 14. According to Transco officials, the power utility has invested ₹11,300 crore for improving the transmission network capacity from 14,000 MVA to existing 27,850 MVA in Telangana during the last three years.

The Transco team went to South Korea following the directions of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to take up works for further strengthening of transmission network to cater to the upcoming demand of 3,000 MW in the near future in and around Hitech City area by establishing a new GIS sub-station at Rayadurg and connecting 400 KV lines with an investment of ₹1,365 crore.

Quoting the visiting team, the Transco officials here stated that the material is expected to be shipped to Hyderabad soon for early completion of the 400 KV source line from the existing 400 KV sub-station at Kethireddypally to the proposed GIS sub-station at Rayadurg.
