Leader of the Opposition K. Jana Reddy has charged the government with giving a go by to the established practices in the Assembly and running the proceedings in a unilateral manner.
The Opposition leader who led the Congress members in boycotting the session for the day in protest against denial of opportunities to opposition parties to raise their issues lamented that the ruling TRS was stifling the voice of the opposition by not allowing it to raise people’s issue. “Doubts are being created in the people’s minds whether there is any opposition party in the Assembly,” he said.
The Chair too was not giving an opportunity to the Opposition parties and the Speaker was evidently looking towards the Treasury Benches for directions. He asserted that the Congress did not accept the Government’s decision to allow adjournment motions after the Question Hour and the decision taken in this regard was not unanimous. “We are ready to withdraw our protest if the Government can prove that we have accepted the decision to defer the adjournment motions,” he said.

He criticised the ruling party for its attitude in not allowing the opposition to raise its voice in the House and said the Congress would go to the people as they would judge the performance of each party at an appropriate time.
