Three killed in road accident at Dundigal

Three persons were killed when the motorcycle on which they were travelling fell into a huge pit after it rammed an under construction culvert at Dundigal on Saturday night.

Mallesh, 36, Veerasham, 40, and Kumar, 35, were returning home after seeing their relative who was admitted in a hospital in Gandimaisamma when the accident took place.

While two persons died on the spot, another was declared brought dead at the Gandhi Hospital. The police said that the contractor did not put any signboard to warn motorists about the ongoing works.

A case was registered under Section 304 A (causing death by rash or negligent act) of the IPC against the contractor. The autopsies were conducted at Gandhi Hospital and the bodies were handed over to their relatives.

Labourer electrocuted

A labourer, P. Venkatiah, 45, was electrocuted while unloading sand from a truck at Jai Hind Enclave Colony in Madhapur on Sunday morning, the police said. The man was hired along with two other labourers for the job by a truck driver.

Fire in residential apartment

Panic prevailed for sometime at LIC Colony in West Marredpally on Sunday when a minor fire broke out a residential apartment. However, no causalities were reported in the incident.

According to fire officials, flames started emanating from the fifth floor of Veenala apartments around noon. The house owner locked the house and went out on some work when the incident took place.

Locals who noticed it and informed the fire control room who rushed a fire tender and a snorkel from Secunderabad Fire Station to the spot and doused the flames. Fire officials suspect that an oil lamp could have resulted in the fire.

Man ‘murdered’ by wife

A 55–year-old-man, V. Narsimha, was murdered allegedly by his wife over a family dispute at Hayatnagar on Saturday night. The police said that Narsimha and his wife Ramulamma, 45, often picked up quarrels over family issues. On Saturday, Narsimha picked up a quarrel with Ramulamma over some dispute. Infuriated over it, the woman reportedly hit him with a stick on his head resulting in his death. Later, the woman hid the body in the house and cleaned the blood stains to cover-up the murder, the police said.

However, the police who came to know about the murder rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for post mortem.
