Narasimhamurthy, 70, performed 30 different yogasanas in water in 30 minutes

Age is just a number for Y. Narsimhamurthy, a retired chief manager of the State Bank of Hyderabad. At 70, he performed 30 different yogasanas in water in 30 minutes here on Saturday.

Mr. Murthy performed different asanas, including suryasana, padmasana, gomukhasana, pawanmuktasana, and suryanamaskar, and other feats such as reading newspaper, having cool drinks, all by staying in water for 30 minutes.

Telugu Book of Records . The expert swimmer has been practising for the last nine years, and his performances have won him accolades including several medals at various competitions.

“My intention is to promote yoga amongst the youngsters,” he says. Mr. Murthy plans to undertake a similar feat in the sea. “It is the encouragement of my friends and relatives that helped me achieve it. I will try to make a record by doing it in sea,” he says.
