The Telugu Desam Party Telangana State unit has decided to intensify its agitation against the State government’s alleged “inaction” in the cases of irregularities in land deals, particularly in Miyapur and other areas on the city outskirts.
The TDP-TS State executive which met here on Tuesday resolved to take up series of programmes to expose the manner in which the Government was trying to shield those accused in the irregularities. A majority of the leaders favoured conduct of jail bharo in all the 119 constituencies across the State on the first day of the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly as and when the session was notified. The meeting discussed about the alleged failure of the Government in fulfilling its promise of loan waiver to farmers, who. Farmers were saddled with loan and interest amounting to ₹12,000 crore. in spite of the Government’s claims on releasing funds in four tranches. Given this background, the meeting had decided to educate the people, farmers in particular, about the shallowness in the claims of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on providing ₹4,000 an acre input subsidy from the next kharif. The meeting had also discussed about the proposed scrapping of the zonal system and opined that it would adversely impact the unemployed youth in rural areas as they would stand to lose an opportunity to work in the State headquarters. “Farmers, students and other sections are looking at an alternative to the TRS Government. The TDP should reach out these sections for strengthening the party from the grass root level,” TDP-TS working president A. Revanth Reddy said.
