Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parikar on Wednesday inaugurated ‘GoGoa' an aquarium at Peddamberpet on the outskirts along the national highway (NH 9) to Vijayawada.

Speaking later, he said tourism was an industry with a lot of potential and that every State needed to exploit it to the fullest. He appreciated the initiative of its Managing Director Pradeep Seth for coming up with a venture aimed at showcasing Goa's sights, culture and tradition and attract tourists. Senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya was also present.

It is located on the national highway (NH 9) to Vijayawada, about 3 km ahead of Ramoji Film City. “We have zoos everywhere but very few aquaria for people to appreciate the beauty of fish. There are 50 species and we will be adding more soon,” Mr. Seth said. The aquarium apart, there is a separate section with life-sized exhibits showing Goan traditions , named ‘Mini Goa'.
