November 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - HYDERABAD:

In an effort to create a complete database of the criminals involved in crimes in the last six years, the Cyberabad police began a five-day programme – ‘Samagra Nerastula Survey’ (survey of criminals) – on Monday.

Cyberabad Commissioner C.V. Anand along with DCP (Madhapur) Kartikeya went to the houses of a few offenders in Hafeezpet area and gathered their details. The police have prepared a two-page form and are filling all particulars like personal details of the offender, his activities, sources of income and expenditure. Around 24,000 persons were caught for various property offences by the Cyberabad police in the last six years. Of them 9,192 reside in Cyberabad while the others are outsiders. “Not only can we have an updated database about the property offenders but also the local police will keep a watch on them,” Cyberabad Commissioner C.V. Anand said.
