State modifies order on teacher recruitment

Limits process to 10 erstwhile districts

In tune with the judgment of the High Court, the State Government on Monday modified its order on teacher recruitment by limiting the process to ten erstwhile districts and not thirty one districts as notified earlier.

The modified order also said the Telangana State Public Service Commission shall issue notification for direct recruitment of teachers in accordance with government orders on vacancies as per the requisition furnished by the Commissioner for Education for ten erstwhile districts.

The Hindu that the aspirants who could not apply by earlier notification will be allowed another chance from Tuesday till December 30.

The online submission of applications had earlier opened on October 30 and closed on 30. The written exam by objective type of questions will be held between February 24 and 28 and the recruitment completed by May, he said.

Earlier notified posts

The commission had notified 8,792 posts earlier, including 5,415 Secondary Grade Teachers, 1,941 School Assistants, 1,011 Language Pandits, 416 Physical Education Teachers and 9 School Assistant (physical education).

The candidates applying for School Assistant, Language Pandit and Secondary Grade Teacher posts will be selected on the basis of combined marks in written exam (80%) to be conducted by the commission and teacher eligibility test (20%).
