Minority youth seeking self employment avenues will get cent per cent subsidy on their units worth between ₹ 1 lakh and ₹ 2.5 lakh without any bank linkages.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has directed the officials concerned to make arrangements to this effect and wanted the Collectors to monitor the implementation of the scheme forming part of a series of incentives the Government has announced for the all-round development of the minority community, particularly Muslims. Minorities will forthwith be provided with 10 per cent quota in the allotment of double bedroom houses and steps will be initiated to strengthen the Minority Development Corporation, Urdu Academy and Wakf Board.
The Chief Minister wanted the conduct of entrance tests and tests for recruitment to Government jobs in Urdu along with English and Telugu. The Government also announced plans to develop an exclusive industrial estate and IT corridor for Muslims. Mr. Rao announced immediate assistance of ₹ 41.7 crore for strengthening civic infrastructure in eight Assembly constituencies of the old city including laying of water and sewerage pipelines.

“There is abject poverty among Muslims like the SCs and STs. The Government has enhanced the budgetary allocation for minorities and the funds should be spent on the lines of those earmarked for SCs and STs. All the communities should prosper for achieving comprehensive development of the State,” the Chief Minister said during a review meeting.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mohd. Mahmood Ali, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and senior officials led by Chief Secretary S.P. Singh. The Chief Minister wanted the officials to focus on programmes for minorities living in rural, semi urban and urban areas as their needs differed from one another. The officials concerned should take steps to fill vacancies in Urdu teacher posts in minority educational institutions.
Mr. Owaisi said the Government’s decision to set up exclusive residential schools for minorities would usher in social revolution in the next decade. Several Muslim families were eager to send their children to residential schools and the Government’s initiative of providing quality teaching along with good food and accommodation would go a long way in fulfilling their dreams, he said.
