State eyes better ranking in ‘Ease of Doing Business’

The Telangana government is planning to improve its ranking in the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) given by the Centre by implementing as many guidelines as possible by June-end.

Minister for Industries and Information Technology K. Taraka Rama Rao held a review meeting here on Monday on the issue with municipal, industries, forest, law, energy and other departments on the policies and facilities required for getting the better ranking in EoDB. Stating that Telangana government was moving ahead with several path-breaking policies, the minister expressed hope that the State would get better ranking next time. The officials of forest department stated that they had decided to speed up the work on inspections and surveys on the applications of industrial needs.

Inspection reports

Arrangements were made pay the necessary fee online and uploading the inspection reports on the website was also made mandatory. Municipal department officials said they had uploaded master plans of 32 out of 73 municipalities in the State already and the remaining work would be completed soon. They were also made uploading the inspection reports of Directorate of Town & Country Planning (DTCP) within 48 hours compulsory. The minister told them to make arrangements to give building clearances for industrial needs within two days including online permissions. Further, the minister told the officials of energy department to introduce supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) to reduce interruptions in power supply in industrial estates/parks.

He suggested them to use automated systems for restoration of power supply services.
