Sheela Bhide panel sets deadline for 31 entities

The Sheela Bhide Committee, tasked with the job division of assets between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, has given instructions to 31 corporations and companies under the Schedule IX to complete their audit of accounts on a war-footing and prepare de-merger proposals and submit to the committee by August 15.

Of the 90 Government companies and corporations included in the IX schedule of AP State Reorganisation Act, the committee has submitted reports for 59 companies.

The committee reviewed the progress made by the balance 31 public sector undertakings recently and the MDs of these institutions assured the committee that the de-merger proposals would be submitted by August 15. Committee chairperson Sheela Bhide noted that the delay was mainly due to delay in completion of audit of accounts of these corporations/companies. In the case of organisations like AP Dairy Development Corporation, AP Dairy Development Cooperative Federation, APSRTC etc., Andhra Pradesh government addressed a letter to Ministry of Home Affairs regarding definition of ‘Head Quarters’’ and the issue of ‘ Common Facilities’. The 31 companies that are yet to complete their audit of accounts include AP Central Power Distribution Compan, AP Foods, AP Girijan Cooperative Corporation, AP Industrial Development Corporation, APSRTC, AP Generation Corporation, Transmission Corporation of AP Ltd., AP State Housing Corporation, AP Housing Board, AP Rajiv Swagruha Corporation Ltd., AP State Warehousing Corporation.
