Chogaram, a tea stall worker, had come from Rajasthan in search of work three months ago

In search of livelihood and coming all the way from Rajasthan, Chogaram would have hardly realised as to what was in store for him in Hyderabad.

After demise of his father coupled with an unprecedented drought condition in his native village, the 25-year-old came to Dilsukhnagar and began working as a helper in Baba Ramdev tea stall for a monthly salary of Rs.4,000. That was till death came in the form of the bomb blast on Thursday evening.

For the past three months, he had been assisting his employer in daily chores apart from serving tea to customers. As usual he was busy in attending to routine work when a powerful explosion ripped through the busy area killing more than a dozen persons instantaneously. “After the blast, flames engulfed the premises and by the time we came out of the shock, Chogaram was found lying in a pool of blood,” says Paras Chowdhary. As Chogaram’s family was facing financial problems in shifting the body to Rajasthan, Paras Chowdhary and other community leaders came forward to make the necessary arrangements. They contacted the revenue officials who assured them of financial support to send the body to Rajasthan. Of his earnings, Chogaram was said to be sending at least Rs.3,000 to his mother Dhaili Devi back home.

Initially, the victim’s friends decided to conduct last rites in the city. “As his mother desired to see her son’s body, we have decided to send it to Rajasthan,” he adds.
