Actor and founder of the Pinkathon Milind Soman told reporters on Wednesday that a free medical check-up would also be held for all the participants.

“Also, there won’t be any restriction for the women who will be running. They can choose to wear whatever they are comfortable in and can run,” he said.

The focus of the women’s-only event will be to encourage an active lifestyle and maintain overall fitness, Mr. Soman said.

The Pinkathon will also have a team of visually-impaired girls participating in all three categories. Training sessions have been designed for them, and a sighted runner/volunteer will run alongside each participant.

United Sisters Foundation CEO Raghuram, shuttler Jwala Gutta, blade runner Kiran Kanojia were among those present.

“The Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation will stand with Mr. Soman and the United Sisters Foundation in our fight against breast cancer,” Dr. Raghuram said.

Online registrations for the event are open at www.pinkathon.in.
