RuB works at Tukaram Gate to begin soon

The GHMC has scheduled a meeting with the SCR authorities on the modalities of constructing a road under bridge at the Tukaram Gate railway station later this week, announced Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu on Monday.

Mr. Krishna Babu accompanied by senior officials, including North Zone Commissioner S. Harikrishna visited the Addagutta area to get a first hand account of the civic issues dogging the residents there.

He also stated that a joint inspection would be organised with the SCR officials early next week to sort out the ownership dispute of the 12 acres in the area, a press release said.

The Commissioner said feasibility reports are awaited from the Collector for taking up the construction of houses for the poor at Dhobighat.

Corporator G.M. Ratna Kumari took the officials into the by-lanes so that citizens can directly represent to the officials about drinking water issues, mosquito menace, encroachments, streetlights, sanitation, roads repairs, etc.

Construction of compound walls near the urban health centre and also at the water tank to prevent anti-social activities was also ordered during the visit.
