Shocked

Her parents are not in a position to talk to anyone even as friends and relatives continue to pour in to express their condolences over the death.

Riya’s friends still can’t believe that death has snatched away such a wonderful human being from them. “She was such a lovely girl and had dreamt to be an architect. Negligence of a few people has snatched away the dreams of not just the girl but her family,” said a family member.

While officials of various departments evade the issue of ensuring proper roads by pointing to the varied jurisdictions between the GHMC and the R&B Department, motorists say someone has to take the blame.

Negligent driver

“It was a scary view. The negligence of the driver was apparent here.

“Police should instil fear among the drivers of big vehicles who rarely respect small vehicles or those walking on the road,” a youngster who witnessed the accident said.
