Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday advised the Congress to refrain from blaming the ruling party if two-thirds of their MLAs split and wanted to merge with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

It happened in the Rajya Sabha when some TDP members joined the BJP and a similar scenario was happening in Goa. If the Congress had leadership capability, why would its members leave the party, asked Mr Chandrasekhar Rao. When the members split and came to the TRS, why should one fault the ruling party for it, he said, adding that he did not want to speak further on the subject as the matter was sub judice.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao intervened and responded to Congress MLA and leader of Congress Legislature Party Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka when he repeatedly tried to raise the merger of Congress MLAs into TRS in ‘violation’ of democratic norms in the Legislative Assembly.
The special two-day session of Assembly commenced to pass various Bills and introduce the Telangana Municipalities Bill, 2019.
Every time a Bill was introduced in the House to replace the earlier ordinance, Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka tried to draw the attention of the House to the ‘undemocratic’ merger of Congress MLAs into the TRS.

But Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy refused to allow it on the grounds that the matter was sub judice and asked the Congress MLA to confine himself to the listed business.
