Ratan Tata to inaugurate T-Hub on Sept. 7

Eminent industrialist Ratan Tata will inaugurate T-Hub, Telangana’s Technology Incubation Centre that is coming up on the campus of International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Gachi Bowli, on September 7.

This was revealed by Secretary-IT & C, Jayesh Ranjan at a press conference to announce the ‘Inspiring Indian Innovation Awards’. “We had earlier personally invited Mr. Ratan Tata and I am glad to say he has accepted our invitation to be here. He will throw open an 800-seater for start-ups across 60,000 square feet of built-up area,” he said.

Expanding on T-Hub, he said as part of its Phase II that would come up in Rayadurgam near here by 2018 would be a 4,000-seater and have 3 lakh sq. ft. “We are working to get it ready in time for the World IT Congress being hosted by Hyderabad in 2018. With T-Hub, we hope to put the city on map for start-ups. Currently, only the US, UK, Israel and Singapore are known for motivating start-ups,” he pointed out.

Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association President, Ramesh Loganathan said the ‘Indian Innovation Awards’ across two categories - enterprise solutions and consumer devices would given away for Best Innovation, Best Start-Up (Early Stage), Best Start-Up (Growth Stage), Best Social Impact Product and Best Student, Internet-on-Technology would motivate youngsters to innovate.

Others present were IT entrepreneur J.A. Chowdhary and Sanjeev Kumar of Indian Gadget Expo. .
