Rape accused jumps from third floor of hospital, critical

A car driver is battling for his life after jumping from the third floor of a private hospital in Uppal late on Thursday midnight. Kumar resorted to the extreme step after a trainee nurse raised an alarm when he tried to rape her.

Uppal police have booked a case against accused. Kumar, who hails from Bharathnagar in Uppal, was rushed to Gandhi Hospital where his condition is said to be critical.

The 23-year-old nurse was staying in a room with her sister on the third floor of the hospital when the accused tried to rape her.

Meanwhile, Cyberabad Police booked a case against former ZPTC member N. Krishna for opening fire in air during Independence Day celebrations held at Hayathnagar on Thursday. Villagers complained that Mr. Krishna had resorted to similar acts on several occasions.
