Railways to get 25,000 new wagons

Officials told to meet stakeholders regularly

Indian Railways is soon going to get 25,000 additional new wagons to meet the demands of the future, hence monitoring the freight movements to achieve improvements in loading with special focus on coal and fertilizers loading was crucial, said Railway Board’s Additional Member (Traffic Transportation) Ambrish K. Gupta on Thursday.

Addressing the day-long Chief Freight Traffic Managers Conference of the Indian Railways at the Rail Nilayam here, Mr. Ambrish Gupta advised the officials to conduct regular meetings with the stakeholders to resolve their problems and accord top priority to wagon related repairs, periodical and routine overhauling, among others.

For hassle-free train operations, better management of maintenance facilities and spare parts to take care of loco failures and signal failures as they directly affect loading.

Terminal performance and reduction of detention time during loading too has to be doubly checked, he said and had a word of praise for the South Central Railway for showing improvement in these matters. B. Nagya, CFTM, South Central Railway, also spoke.

Services cancelled

Train No. 57428 Guntakal – Raichur Passenger Train has been cancelled on 9 and 10th October 2017 while Train No. 57427 Raichir – Guntakal Passenger Train is cancelled on 10 and 11 October 2017 due to work at the Raichur station.

Train Diverted

Train No. 07092 Raxaul – Secunderabad special train scheduled to depart on October 6 is diverted to run via Sagauli, Muzaffarpur and Samastipur instead of Sitamarhi, Darbhanga and Samastipur, a release said.
