After lull of a few weeks, the Telangana government once again stepped up generation from the power house on the left bank of Srisailam hydro-electric project on Tuesday.

The TSGenco has operated six units of 120 MW during peak hours, and released more than 40,000 cusecs of water downstream by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, informed sources. This is much higher than the outflow of 13,664 cusecs released during the 24 hours before 6 a.m. on Tuesday. On Monday, about 6.474 million units of power was produced at Srisailam. At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the reservoir’s water level stood at 856.1 feet, and the quantity at 94.91 TMC. Officials attributed the rise in the generation to the increase in the temperatures.
