Police raid brothels, rescue seven sex workers

Seven sex workers were rescued while 11 persons organising brothels were arrested by the police during raids conducted at different parts of the city on Thursday.

The Commissioner’s Task Force teams of different zones raided the brothels being operated in rented independent buildings and flats in various localities of the city like Banjara Hills, Bowenpally and Punjagutta.

Man succumbs to injury

An unidentified person injured in a road accident died while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital on Thursday. He was aged around 60 years and was hit by an APSRTC bus on March 17 while crossing the road near Clock Tower in Secunderabad. Police shifted him to Osmania General Hospital. The Monda Market police have registered a case.

Labourer dies of burns

A 25-year-old construction labourer, who was undergoing treatment for burns, died at Osmania General Hospital on Thursday. S. Shiva Prakash, hailing from Madhya Pradesh, was working at a site at Filmnagar on March 15 when he accidentally fell on electricity cables and sustained burns.

Man drowns in tank

Yadagiri (22), a painter, drowned in a tank at Asmangadh in Malakpet on Wednesday.

According to police, Yadagiri consumed liquor along with his friends and went for a swim in the tank and drowned.
