A team of neuro surgeons from Sai Krishna Neuro Hospital, Kacheguda, on Thursday claimed to have removed a pencil that had penetrated the skull of a nine-year-old girl. The pencil had gone almost 10 centimetres into the child’s skull, as a result of which she slipped into a coma. The incident happened when the girl, Madhu Priya, while doing her homework, tripped and fell on the sharpened pencil. A team of neurosurgeons comprising T.V. Srinivas, S. Jaypal Reddy, S.A. Jaleel Kirmani and T. Anil Kumar performed a craniotomy to remove the pencil, a news release said.
