Close to 150 Chief Executive Officers from several Indian and multinational companies participated in the ‘Chiefs on a Roll’, a cycling event for CEOs at Raheja Mindspace on Saturday, a statement from Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) said.
The participants cycled for ten kilometres in Cyberabad area to promote active lifestyle, reduce pollution and to promote Hyderabad as a major cycling destination.
Some of the Government of Telangana officials, who participated in the event, include MD, HMR, N.V.S. Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, C.V. Anand, and DCP (Traffic), Cyberabad, Avinash Mohanty.

The top officials from a clutch of companies, who participated in the event, include Senior Vice President, Infosys, Narsimha Rao Mannepalli, Director, Phoenix Group, Satish Chukkapalli, entrepreneur, Srini Raju and Chairperson, CII, Vanita Datla. The event was inaugurated by IT Secretary, Jayesh Ranjan and Business Head, Vodafone India, Mr. Rohit Tandon.
Bike stations
Speaking in a panel discussion after the event, HMR, MD, N.V.S. Reddy said that corporate chiefs should join hands with HMR in establishing bike stations at all the metro stations and nearby residential and business areas to provide the last mile connectivity between Metro Rail stations and work areas.

“Roads are meant for people and not cars. The Government of Telangana is committed to make Hyderabad a smart city and it will utilise the Hyderabad Metro Rail project to convert Hyderabad into a people friendly green city,” Mr. N.V.S. Reddy said.
The top official from HMR urged the CEOs to promote cycling in a big way among their employees and others in Hyderabad.
In the meeting, Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, C.V. Anand assured full cooperation and support from Police to provide a safe environment for cycling in Cyberabad area.
